アイザック・スターン Isaac Stern
(Violin)

Born in 1920 in Russia. Started playing the violin at age eight. Made his debut in 1935 with San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. His 1943 recital at Carnegie Hall caused a sensation. Since then has been actively recording and performing. Has starred annually at the Miyazaki Festival since it started in 1996. Since 1998 has been involved in festival's education program and master classes.


カール・ライスター Karl Leister
(Clarinet)

Born in 1937 in Germany. Studied clarinet first under father, member of Berlin Radio Symphony, and then at Berlin College of Arts. In 1957 took second place in the Munich International Competition and in 1959 became principal clarinettist with Berlin Philharmonic. Founding member of Berlin Philharmonic Woodwind and Brass Ensemble and Ensemble Wien Berlin. Member of Royal Academy of Music, London.


ピンカス・ズーカーマン Pinchas Zukerman
(Violin/Conductor)

Known widely around the world for his supreme musicality and artistic standards. Today a leading violinist, violist, conductor, educationalist and chamber music performer. Born in 1948 in Tel Aviv. Studied at Julliard under Ivan Galamian with support from by Isaac Stern and Pablo Casals School of Music. Since 1970 has conducted many of the world's leading chamber music orchestras. Has made 95 recordings.


ダン・タイ・ソン Dang Thai Son
(Piano)

In 1980 Dang Thai Son became the first Asian to win the 10th Chopin International Piano Competition. Born in Hanoi, he first studied the piano under his mother at the Hanoi School of Music from 1965-75. This was followed by study at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Since 1980 he has toured more than 40 countries to give recitals and his recordings are released by several companies, including Deutsche Grammophon and Sony.


ジョーゼフ・カリクシュタイン Joseph Kalichstein
(Piano)

Born in 1946, he entered the Julliard School of Music in 1962. His debut at Carnegie Hall in 1967 was much acclaimed, as was his nationally televised performance of a Beethoven concerto with Leonard Berstein conducting. He made his European debut in 1971 playing with the Israeli Philharmonic in Berlin. Since then he has played with major orchestras both in Europe and in the United States.


徳永 二男 Tsugio Tokunaga
(Violin)

In 1966 he became the youngest-ever violinist to become concert master of the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. Ten years later he became first concert master with the NHK Symphony Orchestra. Since 1994 when he left the NHK Symphony he has been following a solo career and has been engaged in many activities promoting chamber music. He is also the producer of the Miyazaki International Music Festival.
