〜In Miyazaki there is a season when music blooms〜
 This year marks the occasion of the 6th Miyazaki International Music Festival. With the support and cooperation of many people it has become a feature of spring in Miyazaki since it was first held in 1996.
 Star performers at this year's festival include Isaac Stern, acclaimed as one of the world's greatest violinists; Karl Leister, first solo clarinettist with the Berlin Philharmonic for over 30 years; Pinchas Zukerman, a violinist renowned for his superb technique and rich timbre; Dang Thai Son, the Vietnam-born international pianist known for his lyrical playing and spirited rhythms; and pianist Joseph Kalichstein, impressive for both his technique and passion. Audiences will be treated to the finest classical music at performances held at the Miyazaki Prefectural Arts Center Concert Hall and other venues.
 We hope that during your relaxing time in the resort city of Miyazaki you will enjoy the finest music made by these world class musicians.
 This year marks the beginning of the 21st century. The Miyazaki International Music Festival is a first step into a new century of music for the whole world to hear.
